I just watched a few well made kettlebell videos…because I promised myself that i should at least be aware of what i tend to criticize…While the athlete demonstrating was a very fit physical specimen, nearly everything he espoused was anathema to our hi intensity training philosophy.

One of the first points he made was that unless you learned how to relax in certain positions or had the flexibility or range of motion to allow your skeleton and joints to support the weight, you would tire quickly and fail to last long enough…180* opposite to our goal of inroading the musculature as quickly and efficiently as possible while performing the least amount of work necessary!

He then went on to describe in great detail the various positions and skills necessary tobe a successful kettlebeller…is this a sport…is there a transferable benefit to resting the kettlebell against your hip while slouching backwards and relaxing the trapezius and spinae erectors…the answer is that the only benefit to the skill acquisition necessary tothrow kettlebells around is to become a better kettlebeller…specific metabolic adaptations to throwing kettlebells…Arthur Jones wrote extensively that the weightroom was for general strength acquisition and the athletic field was for skill acquisition…Lets call kettlebelling what it is…a sport requiring some measures of strength, flexibility, cardio endurance and much skill…but it is not an exercise for the masses…unless you want to open up many more orthopedic surgery facilities to deal with the injuries of the masses…

So kettlebelling is a sport…requiring much skill and practice…probably hours per week…with an extremely hi risk and probability of injury…and with an unacceptably low benefit to risk ratio…while our high intensity slow exercise has the highest benefit to risk ratio possible, takes less than one hour per week, and requires almost no skill practice…so for the busy person who wants great fitness, health, andto look great…wants to never get hurt or injured from their exercise program…is there any other choice but Belmar Fitness’s HIT exercise?…and what does this say about kettlebell trainers who tout kettlebelling as a great, safe, fast way to get fit…and who will pay the doctor bills?

An observation of human nature from Arthur Jones…if you spent the last 20 years digging a whole in the ground with a shovel…16 hours a day 7 days a week 52 weeks a year…and all you had to show for your efforts was a hole 20 feet deep 20 feet square…and I brought you a back hoe to dig the hole in one day…would you praise me or hit me over the head with the shovel?

Most folks would hit me over the head with the shovel…I just invalidated your wasted efforts of the last 20 years…and exactly similar situation exists in the field of exercise…people toil at daily exercise…performing dangerous and often worthless and worse than worthless types of movements…and when a scientist like Arthur Jones tries to save them time, money, effort…he is often rebuffed…

PT Barnum said a fool comes along every minute…so the field of exercise will be populated by fools, wishful thinkers, and outright frauds…so be it…if you are interested in the truth…the whole truth and nothing but the truth…come talk to us at Belmar Fitness…we will set you free!!!!!

Udo’s Choice Omega 3 6 9 cold press oil. When the ratios of our Omega fatty acids is out of whack, we respond by craving these hi carbohydrate highly sweet and refined foods that sabotage our diets and our health. The addition of just an ounce a day of these oils will go a long way toward controlling these dangerous cravings. We carry the Udo’s Choice brand at Belmar Fitness…there are a few other brands that are good, but we think Udo’s is the best and most reasonably priced. Remember, it has a short shelf life and must be refrigerated even before opening as these oils degrade very quickly.

Also, if you haven’t added all natural grass fed beef to your paleo diet….why not? It has the perfect Omega 3 6 ratios and will also help control those cravings. We carry the freshest grass fed beef in NJ…our supplier Joe Vrola Meats supplies all the Whole Foods stores in NJ with their grass fed beef…and ours comes in fresh 3 to 4 times per week. It is both delicious and great for you…the supermarket meat you probably eat is very bad for your health and doesn’t taste as good as our grass fed meat. We carry chopped meat, ny strip, filet mignon, skirt, and racks of lamb….start eating for better health today

Any questions…..Joel Waldman

This is one I just had to get off my chest…so thanks for hearing me out.
Having started Belmar Fitness in 1972, I have seen literally 100’s of fitness facilities come and go…a few were good clubs, but the vast majority were scamming, frauds…just as the gyms today that advertise $20/month, $14/month, and now the final insult to any sane persons intelligence $10/month. Even a moments consideration will make it obvious that it is impossible to do legitimate business at these ridiculous prices…and it is. I’ve seen it three times before in my 40 years in this industry…these ridiculous price wars signal a major correction in the industry…within 2 years…three at most…all of these large chains advertising these unsustainable prices will be gone…out of business. They can’t pack enough bodies onto their gym floors to pay their rent, payroll and utilities. So they will be gone…good riddens…but will have done major harm yet again to a basically good and necessary industry…health and fitness…by burning and fleecing tens of thousands of consumers out of 1000’s of dollars that they paid in advance or were legally bound to pay on long term enforceable contracts. What a crying shame!

The Players in this game…WOW 14.95/month…Retro…$19.95 and more recently $15.95/month…Planet Fitness…$9.95/month…Be careful not to get suckered into their long term, non breakable contracts…by their highly trained and skilled salespeople…wouldn’t it make more sense to train people in proper exercise than to sell 3 year and longer memberships?

Ok, so what do we charge at Belmar Fitness? Members pay about $49/month in 3 month increments…and get the only Medx equipment in central NJ…in an uncrowded facility…and instruction in SuperSlowBurn exercise…the only facility in NJ with certified instruction. Our personal training clients pay as little as $30 per session and get a free gym membership included with that price…as well as free Eat to Live and Paleo Nutrition advice…this is real…it is sustainable…fair for everyone and the results are unobtainable anywhere else…recent success stories involve a 6 month 110lb fat loss and a 55 lb 4 month fat loss.
Ever hear the phrase…”If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”…think about that if you or any of your friends ever considers one of these cheap price iron clad contracts.

Maximum Strength Gains

Largescale Cardiovascular Improvement

Maximum “Metabolic Ability” Gains

Enhanced Flexibility

Maximum Body Reshaping through Lean Muscle Gains

The above mentioned activities, pilates etc., might address one or two components…never more…..require 60 to 90 minutes to perform…and expose the trainee to serious risk of injury because of speed of movement and impact forces. There is no program that even comes close to JWBF’s…all five important aspects of fitness….total safety….and very little time spent exercising…there really is no valid basis for comparison between our program and any other type of exercise out there.

Two men are working out on a Friday afternoon. One is jogging along the side of the road. Cars whiz by as he plods
along his route. He’s sweating liberally and breathing rhythmically. On Thursday, he jogged for three miles:the day
before he jogged 5; on Tuesday it was three miles; and Monday saw him hitting the pavement for 6 miles. Today, after
his usual ten minute warm up of stretching movements, so as to not pull anything while jogging, he’s hoping to get five
miles in and finish the week at twenty-two miles. In addition, just as it was on Monday and Wednesday, today his his
da?y to strength train, which he’ll do for one hour right after he finishes his jog. He’s thinking that he might slow his
pace a little today, maybe take a little longer to get the five miles in, because the last time he jogged a little faster, that
old shin splint flared up a bit, leaving him too fatigued to work out comfortably. He also has to cool down afterward, so
that will be another ten minutes of walking and stretching.

He’s a little bit stressed today about being able to get all this in over the next three hours. He will still have to get
showered, drive home in time to pick up his family, and then drive across town to his daughters dance recital. But, hey,
health comes first. He decides to call his wife; she can take the daughter to the recital, and he’ll do his best to get there
on time. He rationalizes away that gnawing feeling that he really should be there for his daughter by telling himself that
he can do only what he can do. He’ll get there when he gets there. His time spent away from his family engaged in his
health and fitness pursuit this week totaled twelve hours, not including driving time.

The other man is at a strength training facility, where he is completing the last repetition of a set of leg presses. He
performed two other exercises prior to this one, spending 90 seconds on a chest press machine and three minutes on an
overhead pulldown machine, and he’s hoping to get three minutes on this set of leg presses as well. To the surprise of
both him and his trainer, it takes him four minutes to reach positive failure on today’s leg press exercise. As he doesn’t
rest between exercises, his actual training time today is eight and a half minutes. His trainer reviews his chart with him
after the workout, which shows that his strength is up 20 percent on both the pull down and the chest press, his leg
strength is up 30 percent, and his leg endurance is up 45 percent. “Great workout” his trainer says as the man heads out
the door and back to work, “see you in another seven days!” His time spent away from his family engaged in his health
and fitness pursuit this week has totalled eight and a half minutes, not including driving time.

Which scenario will you choose for yourself…a version of the former….or the latter. Let me be perfectly clear
about this…scenario one ‘s guy is probably unhealthy…a mass of orthopedic injuries, compromised immune system
manifesting in frequent infections, and recent evidence clearly shows a vulnerable heart, lungs and entire cardio
vascular system. Scenario two’s guy is the polar opposite…his health is vibrant…he rarely gets sick because his
immune system is powerful and growing stronger and his heart lungs and cardiovascular system have responded to his
high intensity brief sessions by getting immensely strong and are almost bulletproof. And this guy doesn’t stress about
how to fit in his workouts, has twelve extra hours a week to spend with his family and enjoy life and make more money
if he so chooses. Is there really any sane, intelligent choice? I don’t think so…and I will do my best to help as many
intelligent people become aware of this as possible.
Any Questions…jmwald@gmail.com

Confused as to how to do cardio?
Just say no!!!
Let us show you how to do SuperCardio?
And stop wasting time making yourself
(Hint…if you don’t get really out of breath…quite uncomfortable…pant heavily
right after your exercise interval…and could continue exercising at the same pace
easily…you are sabotaging your efforts…you are doing exactly the opposite of what
you should be doing)
